• Messages with your agent, attached to the transaction they are about rather than buried in a thread.
• Where things actually stand — what has been signed, what is waiting on you, and what comes next.
• Access that outlasts the closing. The portal does not disappear when the deal does. Your closing documents are still there next year.

How you get access

Lantern is not something you sign up for on your own. Your real estate agent opens a portal for your transaction and invites you by email; that invitation is how an account is created. If you already have one, sign in at app.lanternportal.com.

What we promise about your documents

This is stated plainly, and it deliberately stops short of things that sound better but are not true.

• Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Only the people on your transaction can open your documents. This is enforced in the database itself, not only in the application.
• Every access is recorded in a log that cannot be edited or deleted, by anyone — not by your agent, and not by us.
• The person who runs the service has infrastructure access, as with any hosted product, and does not use it to read client content. We think you should be told this plainly rather than promised something no hosted service can honestly promise.

Who operates Lantern

Lantern is built and operated by Robardsoft LLC, a Georgia limited liability company, from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Your real estate agent's brokerage is a separate business: your agent decides what goes in your portal, and we run the software it lives in.
